Advanced digital imaging analyzes and tracks each hair to preserve the natural look of your donor area.
Recipient Site Making with intelligent algorithms creates the ideal hair pattern for the optimal outcome. Protects existing, healthy hairs.
The donor area is a very important consideration when getting a hair transplant. This is the area that provides the hair that will be transplanted into your thinning areas. Located on the back of the head, this hair is not subject to male pattern baldness, and will grow permanently in its new location. While older transplant methods can leave a noticeable scar or pattern, the ARTAS®Robotic Hair Transplant was designed to maintain the natural look of the area.

The transplant area is the location on your head where your donor hair will be transplanted. Your physician will develop an aesthetic design using the ARTAS Hair Studio® Technology based on your goals, hair type and your facial features. Your new hairline will be created and thinning areas will look fuller, thicker and more even.
The ARTAS® Robotic System uses advanced digital imaging to provide accurate mapping and calculations of critical hair follicle characteristics to determine your best hairs for harvesting. ARTAS Hair Studio will deliver your aesthetic design to the ARTAS System for Recipient Site Making and your clinician will transplant each hair individually, providing natural-looking results.
After a few months, the transplanted hair will begin to grow in its new location. Your newly transplanted hair, like the rest of your hair, grows steadily over time. Around six months, you will start to notice significant growth. The hair will continue to grow in the treated balding areas over the coming months.
ARTAS Hair Studio® is a 3D photograph based simulation of your potential results. During your consultation, your physician will work to design your personalized cosmetic hair pattern and illustrate different options, showing you various graft counts and hair distribution, with your direct input. Intelligent algorithms create a natural site distribution that avoids damaging existing healthy hair, giving you a natural, fuller look.
Follow your clinician’s instructions on how to shampoo and care for your hair. Your newly transplanted hair, like the rest of your hair, grows steadily over time. After a few months, you will begin to see new hair growth. Around six months, you will start to notice significant growth.
Your hair will continue to grow in the treated areas over time. You will be able to treat your newly transplanted, permanent hair just like the rest of your hair and can style your new hair in any way you choose.
For many years, balding patients have been searching for a minimally invasive and virtually pain-free procedure to restore their natural hair. Patients feared artificial-looking, obvious results. Even now, older and more traditional hair transplant procedures are invasive, requiring stitches with prolonged and painful recovery. These procedures leave patients with an obvious linear scar, often requiring a longer hairstyle to conceal. Side effects may include residual and lasting scalp tightness, and potential nerve injury in the donor area.
There are other manual handheld methods that depend entirely on human eye-hand coordination. One of the many risks include human error and a high degree of human fatigue. Visualization of the treatment area is limited to what can be interperted by magnification glasses. This repetitive manual task loses consistency and quality over time.
The ARTAS® Robotic System was designed with you, the patient, in mind. Developed with leading hair transplant physicians and researchers, this state-of-the-art robotic technology was created to eliminate the guesswork and fatigue associated with manual handheld methods, along with the scarring, complications and downtime of existing invasive surgical techniques.
With the ARTAS® Robotic Procedure, no long incisions or stitches are required, rendering your hair transplant procedure virtually undetectable. Overcome the negative stigma associated with traditional, manual hair transplants and expect exceptional results without the side effects and recovery time common with older techniques.

A very important area on your head to consider is where your hair is being harvested from. This is called the donor area and consists of an area on the back and sides of your head. The physician-assisted ARTAS® Robotic System utilizes advanced algorithms to identify and select the best hairs for harvesting, ensuring unparalleled results and preserving the natural look of your donor area.
Advanced digital imaging scans, tracks and grades each hair, selecting your best hairs for harvesting. Image-guided precision robotics remove each hair individually. Only the minimum amount of your hair needed is harvested to complete the chosen aesthetic design, created by your physician using ARTAS Hair Studio.
Your aesthetic design from ARTAS Hair Studio is delivered to the robot for Recipient Site Making. The ARTAS Robotic System creates the ideal hair pattern, giving you a natural look that avoids damaging pre-existing healthy hair.
Many patients report little to no post-procedure pain. Your doctor may recommend some over-the-counter ibuprofen or acetaminophen (Tylenol®) for temporary discomfort. The minimally invasive ARTAS Procedure will allow you to recover quickly, unlike older, traditional methods. You will be typically back to your regular activities in a few days.
Before you make a decision, it is important to ask your physician questions about pain, residual side effects and the major differences between the ARTAS® Robotic Procedure and manual follicular unit extraction (FUE).
How is the physician involved during my ARTAS Robotic Procedure?
The ARTAS Procedure is performed by a licensed physician and surgical staff that have been properly trained and certified on the ARTAS Robotic System. Your physician is the one who creates the hairline design, sets the parameters for harvesting and manages your personalized treatment plan.
What are the qualifications of the ARTAS technicians you use?
At Restoration Robotics, we certify and train the staff on the ARTAS Robotic System. Restoration Robotics also provides ongoing education and training to keep the staff updated on the latest technology developments.
It is important to confirm with your physician that the individuals you meet with make up the team that will execute your procedure.
Does my ARTAS Robotic Procedure require stitches? Is it painful? Are there any residual side effects like with strip surgery?
What is the difference between the ARTAS Procedure versus manual FUE?
